Dark Sage Handwoven Tussar Silk Sari

Tussar silk (aka tasar or tussore), from wild silkworms, has a unique irregular texture and golden color. This deep sage green tussar sari has a deceptively simple traditional design. The zig-zag borders are created by interlacing the light and dark weft threads, which is quite a feat of handweaving. Made of feather-light silk, fairly sheer with a crisp hand, not unlike a rustic organza.
New and unworn, this in good condition save for some uneven color on the light borders and endpiece. Those are greener than they appear here.
