Translucent Handloom Cotton Muslin

A super-fine, transparent cotton to round out our white handwoven Indian fabric offerings.

Translucent Muslin is more sheer and textured than the Fine White Handloom, but crisper and less textured than our Fine Bengal Muslin. It has a dry touch and soft drape, like batiste, with a subtle beauty from the the hand-spun cotton yarns.

It's perfect for historic fashions such as fichus, caps, and Regency gowns, and heirloom sewing. In a modern wardrobe it's favored by Japanese designers for summer shirts. Also excellent for lavishly gathered tops and dresses, as well as linings or layers for our other handloom fabrics, such as the jamdani weaves.
